The"Indestructible Beat" you see before you is a chronicle of our experiences beginning in 2009- volunteering in Kenya- to the present, as we finish our documentary film "Tough Bond." We have been focused on HIV/AIDS relief work, helping starving communities during the present national disaster of famine, and researching and documenting the tragic issue of street children, specifically looking at their use of and addiction to glue. Through this blog, you can help us raise funds, stay connected with us by photo/journal, or just speak your mind.

The original "Indestructible Beat" is an album released in 1986 as a compilation of the rural-urban sounds coming from the township slums of Apartheid South Africa; namely Soweto - most widely known for the police massacre of nearly 600 unarmed citizens protesting the teaching of Afrikaans (as opposed to English) in schools. The music is a testament to the resilient spirit of a people, which could not be destroyed, even through centuries of violence and oppression.
Today, more than 20 years later, the same indestructible spirit is found all over Africa, in the face of sustained famine, brutal war, corruption, and the raging HIV/AIDS pandemic.

All donations will go directly to the community-based organizations and individuals who are linked to our non-profit organization Village Beat, and will propel research on the neglected issue of street children.
